Scipio is the brainchild of two frustrated writers, a highly skilled programmer, and a pretty good cook. Succumbing to the siren’s song of self-employment, a company guy gave up everything (even the privilege of operating in a Six Sigma agile programming environment!) to develop the Arise app for the iPhone. A history, animation and classic film buff since childhood, our guy thought it would be fun to add something to a beautifully designed alarm clock app that hadn’t been used before: an interactive animated video.
Now, succumbing to the flu is not usually considered fortuitous, but it happened that a protracted illness was just what one of the frustrated writers needed to clear the decks for some REAL work. She was aided and abetted by her roommate, the other frustrated writer, and thus the script for the animated video was conceived and carried to term, in a relatively short time, over quarts of chicken soup with matzoh balls from the local deli.
The production of “The Wake-Up Fairy” animated video involved a number of very talented people–a wonderful voice-over actress, up-and-coming animators, patient, skillful recording technicians–and many hours of work. Scipio’s owners thank the whole crew for their contributions to this product. (You’ll see their names listed in the video’s credits.)
